Latest Update
In August 2025, Humanity Foundation organized its 11th Blood Donation Drive in Nala Sopara, collecting more than 70 units of blood with the help of volunteers and corporate partners. These units have already saved lives of patients in critical need, including two mothers who faced complications during delivery.
A group of college students who donated for the first time shared, “We never realized how easy it was. Knowing that our blood can save lives makes us want to donate again.”
With more awareness and continued donor support, we aim to double the number of units collected next year, ensuring no patient is ever turned away due to shortage.
Story
Blood is one of the most precious resources of life, yet thousands of patients in India are denied it when they need it most. Accident victims, children with blood disorders, and mothers during childbirth all depend on timely transfusions.
Unfortunately, blood shortages are common in both government and private hospitals. Families are often left to arrange multiple donors within hours, running from one blood bank to another in panic. For those already struggling financially, this search feels impossible.
Humanity Foundation launched its Gift of Life initiative to bridge this gap. Through safe, well-organized blood donation drives, we connect willing donors with patients in need, ensuring that lives are saved when time is running out.
Medical Situations That Require Blood
Road accident and trauma emergencies
Complicated surgeries and organ transplants
Mothers facing complications during childbirth
Children with thalassemia and other blood disorders
Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy
Victims of severe anemia or infections
The Support Patients Should Receive
very patient in need of blood deserves:
Immediate access to the right blood group
Safe collection and transfusion under medical supervision
Awareness drives to increase donor participation
Strong hospital and blood bank partnerships for faster response
Sustainable donor networks to meet emergencies
Financial and Emotional Struggles
For poor families, arranging blood in emergencies is overwhelming. Many hospitals demand donors instead of payment, leaving families desperate to find volunteers in the middle of the night.
Even when blood is available, families face transportation costs, delayed coordination, and, at times, exploitation through black-market practices. For those already battling financial hardship, this becomes unbearable.
How You Can Help
Your kindness fuels our ability to organize blood donation drives and awareness campaigns:
₹2,000 funds awareness sessions for 50 new donors
₹5,000 covers logistics for a community drive
₹10,000 supports a large-scale drive collecting dozens of units
Even pledging yourself as a donor helps save lives directly
When you support Gift of Life, you are not just donating resources — you are helping keep families together and ensuring that no life is lost due to shortage.
