In August 2025, Humanity Foundation successfully distributed 250 ration kits to struggling families across the slum areas of Nala Sopara and Vasai. Each kit contained rice, wheat flour, pulses, cooking oil, salt, sugar, and basic hygiene items — enough to support a family for two weeks.

Our next goal is to reach 500 more families before the end of this year — ensuring that no family goes to bed hungry in our community.
Story
In the narrow lanes of urban slums, hunger is a daily struggle. Many families survive on one meal a day, and some go to bed without any. For them, ration is not just food — it’s survival, dignity, and hope for tomorrow.
Most of these families are led by daily wage earners or widows who lost their livelihoods during the pandemic. With rising prices, even a simple meal of rice and dal becomes a luxury. A few kilos of grains can decide whether children sleep with full stomachs or tears.
Humanity Foundation launched the “Feed With Dignity” initiative to ensure no family in poverty is left hungry. Through our ration kit drives, we provide essential food supplies — rice, wheat flour, pulses, salt, oil, and sugar — to hundreds of households every month. Each kit is a promise that no one should suffer hunger in silence.
Challenges Slum Families Face
Families in underprivileged communities often face harsh realities that go beyond hunger:
Lack of access to nutritious food, leading to malnutrition among children and elderly.
Poor living conditions with no proper kitchens or storage for essentials.
