Latest Update
In August 2025, Humanity Foundation distributed 150 ration kits and 100+ pairs of slippers in the slum areas of Nala Sopara. Families expressed gratitude as they no longer had to worry about their next meal or watch their children walk barefoot.
One widow told our volunteers, “With this ration kit, my children won’t go to bed hungry this week. For us, it is more than food — it is hope.”
Our next goal is to organize a winter essentials drive, providing not just food but also warm clothing and slippers to families most at risk. With your support, we can make this possible.
Story
Hunger is one of the harshest realities for poor families. In slums and low-income households, even two simple meals a day are uncertain. Widows, senior citizens, and daily wage earners often go to bed without food, struggling to survive in silence.
Beyond hunger, families also lack daily essentials that most of us take for granted — slippers to walk safely, soap to maintain hygiene, or basic household supplies. For children, going barefoot or attending school without proper clothing is a constant reminder of poverty.
Humanity Foundation started its Food and Essential Relief initiative to meet these immediate needs. By distributing ration kits, slippers, and other daily essentials, we bring relief, dignity, and hope to families who otherwise live in despair.
Challenges Families Face
Inability to afford regular food supplies
Malnutrition among children and elderly
Widows and seniors left without support
Children walking barefoot in harsh conditions
Seasonal shortages during floods, monsoons, or price hikes
The Support They Should Receive
Every family deserves:
Nutritious ration kits with rice, wheat, pulses, and oil
Daily essentials like slippers, soap, and hygiene items
Special focus for widows and seniors who lack income sources
Seasonal drives to prevent shortages during crisis periods
Dignity in living without the burden of extreme poverty
Financial Issues They Face
For families living hand-to-mouth, ration shops and markets are often beyond reach. When work stops — whether due to illness, floods, or job loss — hunger strikes immediately. A widow with no support, or a laborer without daily wages, cannot feed their children even a single proper meal.
Even when food is available, families often skip meals so children can eat, or borrow money at high interest, trapping them in cycles of debt. Essentials like slippers or soap become “luxuries” they simply cannot afford.
How You Can Help
Your kindness brings instant relief:
₹1,000 provides a ration kit for a family of four for 10–12 days
₹2,500 supports slippers and essentials for 20 children in slums
₹5,000 helps fund a seasonal distribution drive for widows and seniors
When you support Food and Essential Relief, you are not just filling plates — you are restoring dignity and giving families the strength to carry on.
